Susan D. Thompson, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Our Provider

Dr. Susan Thompson is an advanced practice registered nurse with over 25 years of experience. Susan is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners certification board. Additionally, she holds a certification as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her experience includes chronic disease management, acute care, and healthcare education.

Susan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Xavier University in Chicago, IL., and her Master of Science in Nursing from Governors State University in University Park, IL. Susan continued on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. Additionally, she earned a post-master’s certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of St. Francis.

Furthermore, she practiced as a clinical nurse specialist on a cardiac-telemetry unit as well as in a chronic disease management clinic. While a nurse practitioner, Susan delivered care to patients in their homes and in a behavioral hospital.

As a result of her diverse experience, Susan is highly qualified and experienced to deliver quality care to her clients as well as to assist them in attaining and sustaining their weight management goals. Susan puts the client first and strives to build a trusting client-provider relationship.
